These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of AIConfPaper ("the Service", "we", "us", or "our"), a free semantic-search engine over publicly accepted papers from top AI conferences. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, searching, saving papers, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and AIConfPaper. Our Privacy Policy explains how we process your data, the subprocessors we rely on, where data is hosted, and how international transfers are handled; please review it before using the Service.
Who Can Use the Service
You may use the Service only if you are at least 14 years old. The Service is not directed to children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you are a minor under the laws that apply to you, you should use the Service with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
Your Account
The Service is currently free to use. Many features (such as search) are available without an account, while saving papers into collections, adding external arXiv papers, exporting your data, and seeing recommendations require a free account.
- You agree to provide accurate information (a valid email address and, optionally, a display name) and to keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- Your password is handled and hashed by our authentication provider. We never see or store your plaintext password.
- Please notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
The Service
AIConfPaper provides free semantic and keyword search over a large collection of publicly accepted papers from top AI conferences (such as NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR, ACL, ICLR, and CoRL). The Service uses machine-learning models to match the meaning of your search query against papers. Your query is processed on our own servers, is never sent to any third-party large language model, and is not used to build advertising or behavioral profiles.
The Service does not accept user file or document uploads. It is currently provided free of charge; if we introduce optional paid features in the future, we will update these Terms and give notice before anything is charged. We may add, change, limit, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will try to give reasonable notice of significant changes where practical, but we are not obligated to maintain any particular feature.
Public Paper Content and Intellectual Property
The papers, abstracts, citation counts, BibTeX entries, and other metadata shown through the Service originate from publicly available sources. These papers and their metadata belong to their original authors and publishers.
- We provide search results, links to original sources, and short snippets (such as abstract excerpts). We do not re-host full papers.
- Your use of any paper or its content is subject to the rights, licenses, and terms set by the original authors and publishers. Please respect those licenses.
- The design, software, branding, and the curated corpus and search index of the Service are our property and are protected by applicable law.
If you are a rights holder and believe content surfaced through the Service infringes your rights, please contact us in good faith at contact@aiconfpaper.com with the relevant details, and we will review and respond.
Your Saved Content, Sharing, and Collaboration
Your collections, including folder names, descriptions, the paper IDs you save, and the metadata of any external arXiv papers you add, are yours. You can view, edit, delete, or export them (as an Excel file) at any time from your account and collections area.
Collections are private by default. The Service also offers optional sharing features, which you control:
- Public sharing: if you make a collection public, anyone with the link can view it (including its name, description, contents, and your display name if you have set one), and other users may follow it or save a copy of it into their own account. You can make it private again at any time; copies that others already made remain theirs.
- Collaboration: if you enable collaboration on a collection, any logged-in user who opens your collaboration link can join it as an editor and add or remove papers. You can remove members or disable the link at any time.
You are responsible for what you share. Do not use collection names, descriptions, shared content, or feedback messages to post content that is unlawful, infringing, hateful, or spam. We may hide or remove publicly shared content that violates these Terms, and other users can report shared collections to us.
You grant us only the limited permission needed to store your content and display it as described above (privately to you, and publicly only where you have chosen to share). We do not sell your saved content or use it to build advertising profiles.
Acceptable Use
To keep the Service available and reliable for everyone, you agree not to:
- scrape, crawl, harvest, or bulk-download content, except as we expressly permit in writing;
- overload, disrupt, or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure, or attempt to circumvent rate limits or anti-abuse protections;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users' accounts, or related systems, or probe or test their security;
- use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law;
- use automated means to access the Service, except through the documented API described below or as we expressly permit in writing.
To keep the Service available for everyone, we apply reasonable rate limits and other anti-abuse measures, and we may adjust them at any time.
API Use
We offer a documented public API (see the For Agents page) so that programs and AI agents can search papers and manage collections on your behalf. If you use the API:
- API access requires an API key issued to your account. Keep your key secret; you are responsible for activity performed with it, and you can regenerate it at any time from your account page.
- You must respect the documented rate limits and must not attempt to circumvent them.
- Automated access is permitted only through this documented API, not by scraping the website.
- We may throttle, suspend, or revoke API access that degrades the Service or violates these Terms.
Service Provided "As Is" and No Professional Advice
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Search results, snippets, citation counts, and other metadata come from third-party public sources and may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate.
The Service is a research and discovery tool. It does not provide professional, legal, medical, financial, or academic advice, and nothing it returns should be relied upon as such. You use the Service and any information it provides at your own risk, and you are responsible for independently verifying anything important.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AIConfPaper and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, results, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Because the Service is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, in whole or in part, if you violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or create risk or harm to the Service or other users. You may stop using the Service at any time, and you may delete your account, which removes all your associated data, from the account page or by emailing us at contact@aiconfpaper.com.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised Terms here and update the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will provide reasonable notice where practical. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of the Republic of Korea, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
